This page explains how AGMG determines the order in which moving company advertisements are listed on AGMC's EUGENE MOVING COMPANIES website page, which is the same order in which moving companies are mentioned and offered to customers shopping on the phone, provided that company is known to be able to offer what that customer is asking for (availability date & time, services, etc.). The listing order of advertisements on AGMC's quick comparison list of Eugene Moving Companies is determined by AGMC's merit-based point scoring system that places each company's advertisement in the order of the total listing-order points they've earned, highest scoring on top of the list to lowest scoring on the bottom, with the listing-order points earned from the "LISTING ORDER FACTORS" explained below. Placement in AGMC's listing order can not be purchased, like with Google and Yelp, but rather can only be earned through "merit" points.
The AGMC listing order is very important because customers definitely tend to choose the higher listed companies first, just like when you look at a list of companies on a Google search results page. So when a company is scored with more listing-order points they get a higher listed advertising spot on AGMC's website page, and so get more customers wanting their services, particularly if they can make it to near the top of the list, just like on a Google search results page. The general trend of customer referrals and booking frequency drops off sharply as a company's advertising spot drops down the listing order. So if a company wants to increase their customer referral and/or booking-help frequency from AGMC, the only way to do it is to climb higher in the AGMC listing order, and the only way to do that is to score more listing order points. This is the same type of scoring system that Google uses when it uses Search Engine Optimization (SEO) factors to determine the company listing order on a Google search results page. AGMC is doing the same thing here with the AGMC Listing-Order-Factors.
AGMC is not any other company's boss or employer, so the below explained listing-order factors should not be construed as an instruction of what AGMC is "telling" a moving company to do. AGMC's listing order factors are not instructions, but rather are only the factors that AGMC uses in AGMC's point scoring system to calculate a company's listing order points, to determine the AGMC advertisement listing order. What a company chooses to do with this listing-order-determination information is entirely up to them, just like you can either use or ignore Google's Search Engine Optimization factors.
A company can ignore any or all of AGMC's listing order factors and still be listed on AGMC's Eugene Moving Companies List. The point of this Eugene Moving Companies list is not to eliminate low scoring ("bad") companies off the list but to instead list all companies, good and bad, but in an order that reflects their listing order score. AGMC showing the lower listed companies as a low-score "warning" is just as important and useful as showing the higher listed companies.
The point of this "merit based" point scoring system is four-fold. First and foremost, it's to make it easy for customers quickly to identify the companies that are doing more of the below identified merit-based point-scoring factors by simply knowing that higher scoring ("better") companies are listed higher on the list. Secondly, it allows the point system and customers to choose which company gets that customer's appointment, so that all companies have the same fair potential opportunity to get each of these jobs, removing any arbitrary choice by AGMC of which company gets which jobs (and so makes "asking" AGMC for more jobs irrelevant and insulting). Thirdly, it's to make moving companies accountable for doing less of the below identified point-scoring things, simply in the form of AGMC scooting their advertisements lower down the list. Thirdly, it can be a possible motivation for companies to do more of the below identified point-scoring things and so improve the quality of their services. This means any company can choose to place themselves as high on the AGMC list as they want by them choosing to do more of things that earns them points, and less things that loose them points. All of this is accomplished by AGMC doing nothing other than using this point scoring system to determine AGMC's listing order of companies, which is AGMC's right to do.
THE BASICS
Without your company qualifying for at least the top four Listing Order Factors ("the basics"), your company can't score high enough to make it to the upper section of AGMC's list, and so would result in you not getting enough referrals or booking help from AGMC to make it worth your or anyone's time to bother with any of this, making any other efforts or discussions about any of this just a complete waste of time. So at least be fully informed that you're not going to get any worthwhile number of customers through AGMC's listing service until after you've accomplished at least the first four listing order factors, the "basics".

You being clear about the services & prices your company offers, & about your policies and moving business agreements, either on your business website and/or by you clearly filling out the AGMC Listing Contract For Independent Moving Companies, and your Listing Application Form that lets you answer important questions that customers want and need to know about your company's services in order to make appointments with you.
LISTING ORDER FACTOR #4: PHONE RELIABILITY
The reliability of you answering your business calls & texts, or calling & texting back quickly. If you are not reachable for extended periods of time, you can not provide a superior service, and that's a problem for customers.

The quality and duration of your company's online customer review history on Google, Yelp and Movinghelp.com. Also customer verbal feedback. That means, the highest 5 star %, & the lowest complaint %. LISTING ORDER FACTOR #6: DON'T DO BAD STUFF
Track record of you not doing (or hiring crews that do) the "DONT'S": steal; smell of alcohol on a job; be habitually very late, speak disrespectfully or unprofessionally; threaten; not pay what you owe; cancel at the last minute; be inappropriate with customers; not show up to a moving job; walk out on a moving job; smoke spit or swear in front of customers; loose or damage other people's property; etc.

Offering and always honoring a Satisfaction Guarantee to your customers.
LISTING ORDER FACTOR #8: CUSTOMER SERVICE
Going above and beyond for customers, such as a furniture scratch repair, cleaning the truck floor & pathway, putting felt pads on leg bottoms for customers, presenting a slide show of the load-wall pics to the customer, changing their dryer cords if needed, getting rid of scrap cardboard for customers, having your crew wear your own moving-company shirts & have clean shoes, having clean floor runners & clean rugs & booties, being freshly showered & neatly groomed, talking professionally, wiping your feet on rugs to try to keep the customer's carpet clean, etc.
LISTING ORDER FACTOR #9: JOB ASSESSMENT SKILL
Your skill of assessing the time required and needs of the job during the walk-thru, and informing the customer if the job requires more man-power, time, or equipment than is currently expected in order to meet the customer's expectations of timing and requirements of the job. You having a better assessment and predictive skill at the walk-thru also allows you to better predict when your crew might be available for a following job if you want one, and so also allows you to better dial-in the timing of a following job, making your next customer happier as well.
LISTING ORDER FACTOR #10: VERBAL FEEDBACK
Preponderance of customer and co-worker feedback. Any one customer or co-worker reporting a good-thing or a problem with you on your job sites will likely carry little weight, but when different people report the same good-thing or problems with you on multiple job sites, this will be taken seriously and could possibly effect your AGMC listing order, depending on the good-thing or the severity of the problem.
LISTING ORDER FACTOR #11: DAMAGE RECORD
Low frequency of damaging things, & reliability of you and your crew always reporting damaged things (not trying to get away with not reporting damage).
LISTING ORDER FACTOR #12: PAYING CLAIMS
Your company's record of paying out (or repairing/replacing) customer's damage & loss claims, in full, immediately, happily without hassle, compared to your company's record of not compensating a customer for what they feel they are owed, or trying to delay or get out of paying.
LISTING ORDER FACTOR #13: PAYMENT FORMS
Being able to accept customer payment by at least Venmo, check, cash, and card. Bonus points are earned for also being able to accept Zelle, Cash-ap, Apple pay & Samsung Pay.

Always and reliably speaking professionally, respectfully and calmly to your crews, customers, & AGMC, without exception.

LISTING ORDER FACTOR #16: DOCUMENTED WORKERS
There's a big listing order penalty if you are hiring workers with past sex crimes, or non-employee illegals who have not filled out independent contractor paperwork. You can earn bonus listing order points by you texting picks of proof of your worker's background checks and/or your worker's filled out Moving Helper paperwork.
LISTING ORDER FACTOR #17: LIABILITY AVOIDANCE
Doing the documentation and steps necessary to avoid extreme unnecessary liability exposure such as; liability agreements you're supposed to have customers sign before the job, pre-existing damage pictures of customer's items and house, water-damage liability disclaimer, independent contractor contracts, having backing-spotters behind your trucks when backing up, documenting load-wall pics of your jobs, etc.

If you are having AGMC help book appointments for you, you letting AGMC know your Availability Schedule, & reliably updating it whenever that changes. That also means being available when you say you're going to be available, and not cancelling at the last minute.

The lack of customer claims of a no-show or last minute cancellation.
LISTING ORDER FACTOR #20: ABILITY TO PAY
Being able to pay your bills & what you owe. If a moving company can't even pay what they owe, that means they can't pay the customer for a $1,000 TV if the moving company breaks it, let alone a $4,000 floor damage claim. That means a broke moving company (without liquid cash) can not possibly deliver the "pay for damages" agreement they sold as part of their claimed services, and so are knowingly cheating all those around them.
LISTING ORDER FACTOR #21: A HAPPY CREW
Having a happy, not disgruntled crew, which means no reports of you speaking disrespectfully to your crew, not getting along with your crew, or not paying your crew on time and in the amount and pay-form that was agreed upon (not cheating your crew, honoring your agreements). Happy crews do better work, disgruntled crews do worse work.
LISTING ORDER FACTOR #22: ODOT #
If you are offering to transport a moving customers goods via you driving a truck, then your company having an ODOT number.
LISTING ORDER FACTOR #23: INSURANCE
Being properly insured, and having proof of that insurance displayed on your website. Or giving AGMC the information and permission necessary to allow AGMC to check into your insurance.
LISTING ORDER FACTOR #24: GOOD EQUIPMENT SET
Having the right equipment and supply set needed to do the job right. Bonus listing order points can be earned by you showing AGMC you have a good equipment and supply set either on your website or via a one minute video call. Maximum points can be earned by repeating a new video call after two weeks, and again after two months, then once yearly after that.
LISTING ORDER FACTOR #25: ON-TIME RECORD
The reliability your company being on-time to your job appointments, & letting your customer know if you're going to be late before being late. Bonus listing order points can be earned by you texting to AGMC the letter "C" when you arrive at your job sites. This would allow AGMC to record an actual record of how often you are on time, and so be able to tell and advertise to customers honestly that you have a proven track record of you being on time, as an extra bonus selling feature of your company. LISTING ORDER FACTOR #26: BEING 10 MINUTES EARLY
You, as Lead of the job, showing up at appointments before your crew, usually 10 minutes early before appointment times, and if you are late when your crew is early you paying them for their time. Disgruntled crews do worse work.
LISTING ORDER FACTOR #27: GOOD INVOICE RECORD
If you're signed up to receive booking help from AGMC, the reliability of you always texting your job Invoice picture to AGMC by the end of the day of each AGMC referred job, to let AGMC know what AGMC's booking fee is supposed to be for that job.
LISTING ORDER FACTOR #28: PAYING ON TIME
If you're signed up to receive booking help from AGMC, the reliability of you always paying AGMC the booking fee for a job promptly, by Venmo, no later than by the end of the day of the customer's payment form clearing. If you can't even afford to pay the booking fee, that doesn't look good for you being able to pay a customer's damage claim, or being honest with other people's money and property.
LISTING ORDER FACTOR #29: CLEAR PAYMENT RECORD
If you're signed up to receive booking help from AGMC, bonus listing order points can be earned for keeping a log of booking fee payments you owe & make to AGMC for each job (a "transaction log"), showing the current balance you owe to AGMC, & texting a pic of that log to AGMC each time when you owe or pay new booking fees.
LISTING ORDER FACTOR #30: LOAD-WALL PICTURES
You making good photo-documentation of your work for your own insurance compliance, & you showing AGMC you are in insurance compliance (& moving industry standard compliance) by taking pictures of your load-walls and texting them to AGMC right after the picture is taken, including flat loads, and loads into storage units, garages, and unloads of other company's loads. And if not doing this regularly, at least doing it for a few jobs to show at least a "snap shot" of your practice of documenting your work.
LISTING ORDER FACTOR #31: SHOWING IMPROVEMENT
You can earn bonus listing points by you attempting to improve the services of your company, and improve these listing-order point factors. If you're not getting the work volume you want, and you ask AGMC for advice & feedback, if you respond by only deflecting and talking about other people's problems or other subjects, that makes it likely no progress will be made, and so earns you zero bonus listing points.
LISTING ORDER FACTOR #32: DEMONSTRATION OF SKILL
You inviting AGMC to witness your onsite work on one of your jobs, with AGMC then assessing the quality of that demonstration to be of a professional level. Or, if you want, you can submit to AGMC photos, videos and video calls showing your moving skills. If AGMC can see that you know what you're doing, that counts for a lot of bonus listing order points.
LISTING ORDER FACTOR #33: UNDERSTAND INDEPENDENT
You understanding and speaking consistent with the independent business arrangement between your company and AGMC, that AGMC is offering a listing and booking-help service where the customers choose which company they want for their jobs. It's not AGMC choosing, so if you talk like this is some kind of "boss/employee/buddy system" where you ask to be "given" more jobs, that only means you have no idea what's going on, and you didn't pay attention to (or don't take seriously) anything about this website, AGMC, or any of the contract paperwork you signed. That also means you likely aren't trying to get more jobs by YOU improving your merit-based listing order factors to improve your listing order and online business review description, which is the only way you DO get more jobs thru the AGMC listing and booking-help service. That also means you'd be headed for a crash of not fixing anything that actually helps, not getting enough work and having let down expectations.
LISTING ORDER FACTOR #34: HAVING TALKS
You can earn bonus listing order points by you having occasional talks with AGMC about how to improve or handle things. This "want" to brain-storm to improve and perfect our craft can be a key part of any professional raising to the top in their field, and is an indication of the direction any professional is headed. However, the moment there is any negativity, aggression, or disrespectful talking, AGMC's willingness to discuss things outside of purely providing booking-help for appointments will end.
